Following our post earlier about Sammy dipping her toes, just a quick post to show you some of the sights from today. Each day we spend on the Isle of Wight makes us love the place more and more. We went to Alum Bay to see the famous "Needles", and the weather was so good we could see across the Solent all the way to Bournemouth. It was spectacular and included a cable car ride down the steep cliff to where I took the pictures of Sammy dipping her toes.
From there we moved on to Freshwater, which is indescribably beautiful. We put some pictures in to show you but really pictures just can't do it enough justice. A casual drive along the coast saw us pass through Ventnor, Shanklin (where we had lunch), Sandown, Ryde, Newport and home to Cowes. And all of this was accomplished in just 72kms. So Sam and I plan to repeat the day once we are fit, on our bicycles. Having ridden much longer distances training for races, I know that we can get fit enough to do it in about 8 weeks from now. Can't wait! Anyway, enjoy the pictures.
