Busy Days

Hello dear friends,

Sammy and I have been so busy with work, finding time to even clean the house has been tough (although Sammy works the same long hours as I do and still finds more time for housework than me......um, moving on). We were so excited last week when Sammy got a temp job at the Borough of Poole Council. Its really helped us settle even more, with both of us going to work, and its great to see Sammy meeting people and learning the weird and wonderful ways of the Brits when at work!

We are also having to, with heavy hearts, adjust to life in Bournemouth without our dishwasher. Dishywishy, if you are out there, somewhere, we miss you so!!!! That aside, Bournemouth and Poole are turning out to be really very nice places. As my Brit friends would say, thats a result! We have not had much time to go down to the beach, but we do plan to very soon. Last weekend we were invited to my friend and colleague Marios's home for a braai. Marios or Maz for short, and his wife Laura put on a huge spread, and you will all be pleased to know, Maz braais only on charcoal fired Weber units. No gas or mini braai's for this man. And he cooked on two seperate fires, one for the vegetarian options and one for the pork and chicken kebabs. At this rate he will be an honourary South African soon enough. It was a great evening and it was nice to get out on a Saturday evening.

This weekend coming, our great friends Jo and Mark are getting married on the Isle of Wight. We are very excited to be going over and joining in the festivities. In fact, Sammy is doing some last minute ironing, whilst I type this blog (again note how I seem to dodge the housework.....) Sammy has just chastised me saying its not something to be proud of, but to be fair, I do some housework, sometimes. (Lots of rolling eyes in the background as I read her what I am posting!). Then in  a double whammy for the weekend we are popping up to Walton on Thames on Sunday for our dear friend Denise's birthday. Its a busy weekend for us then! Also the kitties are about to go into their last month of quarantine. We are so excited about them coming home, and plan to buy a scratching post for them to use instead of our legs when they come home. No piccys this time to show you. We will pop some of the house, the wedding and general festivities some time soon when we have a moment. Love as always Sammy and Rich.
